Food and Wine Pairing: Lone Madrone ~2016 Grenache Blanc

Tasting Lone Madrone Grenache Blanc

Lone Madrone ~2016 Grenache Blanc

A well crafted all American 100% Grenache Blanc. Expressive of all things rich and supple. This wine opens on the nose with a burst of green fruit (apples, white peach and pear) and citrus. The palate is weighty with zesty acidity leading into salty mineral notes. A lengthy fruity finish refreshes the palate with lingering fruity (more of the peach and pear) aromas.

This wine exhibits great balance and alcohol restraint only at 12.5%. Just 92 cases of these were produced. Best drunk young or cellared till 2020.

Will pair well with any dishes meant for a big Chardonnay and any spicy dishes. (Moroccan or Indian anyone?)

Cheese Pairing (LINK): Nutty Gruyère or soft creamy cheeses like Fromage Blanc and Brie.
