Fall Wine Club 2017

Dark Star Cellars ~ 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is infused with small amounts of Tannat and Merlot. Science tells us that everything is better with a little blend. The Merlot rounds out the flavor profile of the Cab, while the Tannat reinforces the tannic structure. The base line varietal is a blend of two different vineyards. Both enjoyed a long hang time to allow the fruit to ripen to full flavor. Rich and full bodied this Cab is ready to drink now but will be happy if you hold on to it for up to 5 years. Drink now through 2022

The Fableist ~ 2015 Petite Sirah
The 2015 Petite Sirah is front loaded with dark chocolate, ripe cherry and black pepper. Full bodied, bright and ready for date night. It is a blend of 90% Petite Sirah, 5% Syrah and 5% Grenache. Suggested pairings are Cheesburgers and Fries – Simple yes, but oh so very complimentary. Drink now through 2024

Gelfand ~2015 Petite Cab
The best for the best! The richness of this award winning Cab is blended with full bodied Petite Sirah. This wine has turned out to be one of the Gelfand’s personal favorites. Only a limited amount is made each year, too small to submit for competition. We only have an opportunity to pick up great wine like this on rare occasions. We hope you enjoy it. Drink now and reorder quickly. We only have a couple of bottles left after shipping. Or, this wine will be able to lay-down for a few years. Drink now though 2021.

Kenneth Volk - Pomar Junction ~ 2014 Verdelho
The Kenneth Volk Verdelho is medium-bodied, offering tropical and citrus fruit aromas with grapefruit, melon and green apple flavors. This refreshing, mineral-driven wine can be enjoyed as a aperitif, or served with seafood, shellfish and cuisines of the Pacific Rim. An excellent wine to enjoy cold in this warm late summer weather. Drink now through 2018

Nelle ~ 2014 Syrah
Undeniably Central Coast Syrah on the nose. Paso Robles and Santa Barbara vineyards blended together. Ripe dark fruit is apparent right off the back, then morphs into dried fig and subtleties of roasted lamb. Demanding at first taste and driven by fruit. Tannins are round and slightly velvety. The dark fruit remains with you throughout its long and chewy finish. Difficult to put down the glass, as it evolves with time you will want more. Drink now through 2019

Nadeau Family Vintners ~ 2013 Sangiovese
100% Sangiovese This food friendly, medium bodied wine combines fruit forward characters, soft approachable tannins, and delightful aromatics. This particular wine has several years of life awaiting it for those who enjoy their wines with some extra bottle ageing. This wine will not disappoint. Drink now through 2022
Cases produced: only 61 Cases and the winery is selling out quickly.

Wild Horse ~ 2016 Malvasia Bianca
Light and fruity. This wine is ready for the final sprint to the end of summer. Our little section of California has seen the highest average summer temperature ever this year. The Malvasia Bianca is produced here in Paso but is a little too delicate to be grown well here. It is grown in the slightly cooler climate just a little north of Paso Robles in Southern Monterey County. We included this as an example of a light, friendly and fun summer white! We hope you enjoy. Drink now.

Wild Horse ~ 2014 Malbec
Rich and tannic are good descriptors. This wine will benefit from opening and waiting for 30 minutes or so. Dark red fruits, blackberry and some tobacco on the nose with dark fruits and perhaps a little cocoa on the tongue. Acids help maintain the structure and it finishes with an enjoyably long and slightly silky finish. Drink now through 2025.
